Data Systems Intern

Fairtrade America seeks a committed Data Systems Intern with an interest in working for a development NGO. We are implementing two new data systems in 2017. The Data Systems Intern will play a key role in ensuring our transitions go smoothly, and will assist the project managers in training staff on new policies and procedures. The intern will have the opportunity to work with colleagues in our Business Development and Licensing departments, and will learn about the international Fairtrade system. 

Specific Responsibilities

  • Assist the Business Development team in creating reports in Salesforce
  • Prepare data in advance of migration to new reporting system
  • Determine strategy for multiple Salesforce data entry projects
  • Assist the Licensing team in designing cross-departmental integration processes
  • Create organizational procedural documents
  • Research best practices
  • Carry out additional assignments as required

Qualifications

  • Experience and/or interest in information technology and data systems
  • Attention to detail and ability to learn new computer skills
  • Knowledge of Salesforce and Microsoft Access preferred
  • Knowledge or interest in development issues desired

Internship Details

  • Undergraduate or graduate level student
  • Start date early to mid-September
  • 20 hours / week Monday – Thursday for 12 to 14 weeks
  • Paid internship at $12.50 per hour
