Organic India works with thousands of small family farmers in India cultivating quality teas, herbs, and supplements on sustainable organic farmland.
Started in the 1990s, the founders of Organic India met on a visit to northern India to visit a teacher named Papaji. They were so inspired by Papaji’s lifetime of service to India and its people that they created a business to support the livelihood of marginalized farmers in India. They provided training and education that allowed farmers to become self-sufficient and develop skills to be passed on to future generations.
When you purchase Fairtrade certified products from Organic India, you support farmers and workers who comply with internationally recognized social, economic and environmental standards to lift themselves out of poverty on their own terms.
Today, Organic India works with thousands of small family-owned farms in India, helping to cultivate thousands of acres of farmland that have been third-party certified organic. The company also works with local indigenous groups in India who wild-craft herbs on 592,000 acres of forest.
Every time you purchase an Organic India product, such as their famous line of Tulsi Tea, you can feel good knowing that your purchase supports the environment as well as the farmers in India. That product is the link in the Organic India chain of love, connecting you to the earth, the Organic India company, and the thousands of farmers who will now have a better life because of your purchase.
